Polar Bear Season

1. All members of the RMC wishing to participate in the Polar Bear Season must sign

up for Flight ‘A’. This will ensure that all riders adhere to the same schedule. RMC

members do not have to sign up for the District II Polar Bear to participate in

the RMC Polar Bear Competition.

2. All site visitations will coincide with the District II Polar Bear Schedule.

3. Points will be assigned in the following manner:

a. 20 points will be assigned for each rendezvous.

b. 1 point will be assigned for each 10 mile increment of the round trip. For

example, the trip to Lewes, De.. A 450 miles round trip would be worth 20

points for the rendezvous & 45 points for the 450 mile round trip. All mileage

mileage will be taken from the diner to the site and then Doubled.

c. No points will be assigned for rendezvous or mileage utilizing any vehicle

other than the motorcycle.

d. The ‘Chilly Chili Run will be included in the schedule as a Polar Bear Run.

4. Points will be assigned only if the rider rides with the club. Club colors are

mandatory, as per our by-laws. Individual efforts will be applauded but no points

assigned. All rides will leave from the diner, with one exception. The rendezvous in

Lewes, De. is a two day event. Any riders going to the two day event can leave on

their own schedule. No extra points will be assigned for two day participation.

Starting site & time may be altered depending on length of trip.

5. The Sunday following the Crotona Midnight run, all members who work the event

will be accredited as if they had ridden the Polar Bear. For example, if the ride

had been to Whiting, NJ, 200 miles round trip, they would have been assigned 20 pts

for the rendezvous and 20 points for mileage. No additional points will be assigned

if participant rides to the Polar Bear following the Midnight Run as this is to be

discouraged as unsafe.

6. This event will span the 2006-2007 season. Trophies will be awarded to the 1st &

2nd place riders as determined by points accrued. In case of a tie, the winner will be

determined by the number of rendezvous attended. Trophies will be awarded to all

participants who amass 350 points during the season. A trophy will be awarded to

high point passenger finisher.

7. Additionally, all finishers (350 pts) will receive 50 Road points for 2004.
