Bahr's Landing Feb 26, 2006

This week's ride commenced on the stroke of 10:00 a.m. with quite a nip in the air. 5 riders braved the cold and they were: Bill Widmer, John Maietta, Bob Steinberg, Ed Roche and Bill Raushenberg  who led the ride in Dick's absence. We made our way down to the Gateway National Park area double quicktime. Clear skies, a bit blustery, and clearly cold it was still a very nice ride and the Inlet by Bahr's Landing is always interesting. Today the water was cold and grey and tumultous. As if the wind were driving it one way while the tide was taking it another. John and Bill split immediately and Bob and Ed signed in.  Ed received his 30 point rocker from Flight A and has officially completed the Polar Bear season. Bob - who already received the 50 point gold rocker, is shooting for the pin!~ even if it means he needs to give 6 more pints of blood (2 points each). Bob, Bill Widmer and Ed stayed for lunch and had a good one for $17 a  piece.  As Dick would say - You all missed a good ride (and fair company....not us....the hostess).

Aye matey....tree for lunch...

Sign in - light flares are ghosts of Polar Bears past! No really...

Bill taking in the view. Good showing for a cold day.

More bilkes and bright sun....still 20 degrees though...

Hot bikes and cold boats.
